I’m really curious how everyone else is experiencing the different phases of TCD. I know that lots of people are doing it for different reasons and are coming from different states of health. My practitioner has coached 30 + people through TCD and said that all but one (who he deemed really sensitive) seemed to go through the program without any side effects or extreme detox reactions. I would classify myself as one of those “sensitive” people and so I’m noticing more reactions and just wanted to see how other people were handling things.
I am doing this detox to help me heal from an extreme case of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome very similar to Dr. Pompa but I believe many of my symptoms have been more severe. Since a week before starting the Prep Phase (my practitioner had me do some PRE PREP Phase things), I have experienced crashes where my energy tanks. Since the prep phase, old symptoms have reappeared, my elimination has slowed which is the one area of my life that I’ve NOT had issue with until now, I am drinking my weight in water but I still feel dehydrated. I’ve got dry mouth and dry everything. And I had one day of a pretty severe headache 2.5 weeks in which I attributed to a dumping of some possible toxins because I never get headaches. I’ve also experienced body aches and my insomnia is back and more frustrating than ever with adrenaline spikes, waking up gasping for breath and restless legs. I’ve got a week left in the prep phase and I’m a little nervous about what the next two phases might bring but I’m still very committed and ultimately hopeful about this approach. I know that sometimes you just have to push through the icky stuff to heal.
I would love if anyone else might share why they are doing this and how they have felt throughout.
And to the moderator…. While I know that it’s common for people to experience dry mouth during TCD, can you explain exactly WHY that’s happening? What’s going on inside the cells? I always imagined that my lovely cells were getting so happy as the membrane integrity was healing which I assumed would help them hydrate more efficiently. It feels like my cells are literally dehydrated or maybe it’s just the space outside my cells. Is this happening because my cells are actually absorbing more water and so the fluid outside the cells is less hydrated as this shift happens? It’s an old symptom of mine and while I know it’s about this detox, as someone who has been completely bedbound and dysfunctional beyond description, it can still be scary to see yourself going backwards when you have made it to a somewhat stable place. It helps to calm my mind if I know why the body does these strange things.
